Changing My Thought Processing
Sep. 28th, 2012 07:37 pmToday I learned about changing my thought processes. I want to share it with you today. Here is an example of how to change it:
1. You get a flat tire.
2. You start panicking and thinking things such as...
"Oh my gosh! I'm going to be late for work! I'm going to lose my job 'cause I have a flat tire."
" If I lose my job, I won't be able to feed my kids. I'm a bad Mom!"
3. You feel anxiety, nervous, jittery.
4. If your friend was on the phone with you, what would you say?
I would say: "Calm down. It's going to be okay. Call for Triple A and get help. After you do that, call your boss."
5. Conclusion: You might still feel angry but you have looked at it in the right perspective. Look at yourself as your friend.
We are nicer to other people more than we are to ourselves. Change that.
A Biblical way to look at this is the Bible says to love one another as we love ourselves. God wants us to ourselves and in order to love ourselves, we must first love Him.
